6-Step Application Process

1. Start an Application

GRADAPPLY.GSU.EDU/APPLY/

You’ll need to create an account if you don’t already have one.

2. Program Selection

SELECT YOUR DESIRED PROGRAM UNDER BIOLOGY

There are four options, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Master of Science (MS), Non-Degree, and Transient. Ph.D. applicants are required to choose a concentration. A concentration is not required for anyone else.

3. Submit Application Documents

SEND US YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS AND ANY RELEVANT TEST SCORES

Send us your official transcripts, GRE scores, and Statement of Purpose. International applicants must also submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. Ph.D. applicants must also upload a list of courses that you are interested in taking.

4. Request Recommendations

GET ACADEMIC OR PROFESSIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Add 3 references, who are familiar with your academic or professional background. Make sure they know that they need to submit the letter online.

5. Sign and Submit

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION BY THE DEADLINE

The sooner you are able to submit, the sooner you will hear back. If you don’t hear back within 2 weeks, please contact the biology department to check on your application.

6. Accept Offer

ALL ADMITTED STUDENTS SHOULD CONTACT THE GRADUATE COORDINATOR FOR DETAILS REGARDING ASSISTANTSHIPS AND COURSE REGISTRATION

All students with graduate assistantships should fill out the New Hire paperwork, register for the appropriate classes, and pay their student fees.
